This Japanese sushi-style “omakase” or no-menu restaurant is located at the Time Warner Centre in Manhattan, New York—open since 2004. It’s as much an event and experience as it is an eat-out joint. Chef Masayoshi Takayama selects the dishes and recommends a relaxed eat-out scene, serving a maximum of 26 diners with bookings taken three weeks in advance. Masa is born and raised in Japan but owned his own high-end restaurant in Los Angeles and then Masa in New York.  From his youth, delivering fresh sashimi to neighbors on his bicycle, to preparing and grilling countless fish courses to cater weddings and events in high school, Masa´s relationship with food has always been his way of life. When clients arrive at his restaurant, they are served a number of fresh meals straight from the kitchen. Think truffles, Omi beef, and fish flown in from Japan. Allow two hours for dinner. The meals range from $750 per person not including tax or tip. That is for three Michelin stars!
