This beautiful Oriental-type cat is not in fact from the Indonesian island of Java but was developed in Canada and the USA—ultimately from Southeast Asian stock. The Javanese cat is also known as the Colorpoint Longhair. They have triangular heads with large ears relative to their slim body. Their almond-shaped blue eyes are very beautiful, and they are thought to have Siamese ancestry. Usually, they are very sociable cats with a playful disposition, often meowing or “vocalizing” for no apparent reason!
