The home of the United Nations and the European “luxury industry” (think watches, and other high-end goods) Geneva is in the far southwestern corner of Switzerland that juts over into neighboring France. It has an area of 282 km of which 7 km cover the city proper. Geneva is the center of world diplomacy, scientific and non-government organizations and has a historic cultural presence in Switzerland and in Europe.
