9. Emerald and Diamond Tiara—$12.7 million

source: forbes.com

The emerald and diamond tiara was commissioned in 1900 from possibly Chaumet, the Parisian jewelry house, by German Prince Guido Count von Henckel as a gift for his (second) wife, Princess Katharina Henckel von Donnersmarck. The stunning diamond and emerald tiara were made with 11 extremely rare Colombian, pear-shaped emerald drops weighing in at about 500 carats, which were believed to have once belonged to an Indian Maharajah. The tiara is also thought to be once owned by the wife of Emperor Napoleon III of France. The bejeweled headpiece was sold through Sotheby’s Geneva for $12. 7 million, which is reportedly $2 million more than the estimated price.
