Walter Steiger Senior started his brand in 1932 and his creations were quite offbeat, even by today’s standards. The brand is known for its unique techniques and high-quality materials and has a firm place in the top rankings of the luxury footwear sector. The company is now run by his daughter Laura, who relaunched the environmentally aware brand Tank Steiger in Rome in 2019. Shoes from Tank Steiger cost less than $500. The original Walter Steiger shoes are now vintage collectibles and fetch reasonable prices.
