11. Palazzo de Amore, USA $195 million

source: wsj.com

This Mediterranean-style estate was built in 2014 and was regarded as the most expensive residential complex in the United States back then. The Palazzo de Amore looks expensive just by looking at its surrounding, which is based in Beverly Hills and has the spectacular view of Los Angeles. Owner Jeff Greene more than doubled the value of the property after internal and external renovations. The luxury mansion boasts a 15,000-square foot entertainment center, 12 bedrooms, 25 bathrooms, a Turkish spa, a 50-seat movie theater, a bowling alley, a disco—and even a hillside vineyard. Jeff Greene, the investor in this property, is an American real estate entrepreneur and a member of the Democratic Party and was a candidate in the 2010 Senate election primaries in Florida.
