The caracat is the result of a cross between the wild Caracal, or desert Lynx, and an Abyssinian cat; it is considered to be one of the rarest and most expensive cat hybrid species in the world. The breeding program was officially successful in 2007. It is very difficult to breed this cat and there are only a few of them around the world. Keeping them requires much care and attention, they are more gentle than their direct ancestors, but they still show some aggression. The Caracat is said by some to be an instance of humans exploiting animals to make the perfect cat. Whatever you think of the creation of the Caracat, it can weigh up to 13 kg and is very beautiful.
